Halloween

I was so excited for Halloween this year! I got the idea (thanks Kat!) for the boys' costumes like two months ago and have been planning ever since. Blake and Jack went as Mario and Luigi this year. I found a pattern online to make their hats and they have been in the closet for over a month. I then just bought all the other pieces that were needed.

I almost had a panic attack yesterday when I realized that I didn't have white gloves. AHHH!!! I have been planning for so long and it slipped my mind. So, I ran to a couple of stores, and no white gloves. This afternoon when the boys went down for a nap, I got to work. I traced a hand onto one of Garrett's white under shirts four times, cut them out and sewed them. Ta-da-la we had gloves!! Not perfect gloves, but gloves none the less.

We woke the boys up early from their nap (big mistake) and started getting them dressed. We used waterproof mascara for the mustaches. FYI: waterproof mascara is also snot-proof. :)

Then the ice cream man made a trip down the street that also delayed their trip to the door.

They finally made it and met up with their cousins Kelsey and Christian.

We finally made it to Sam and Sheila's for dinner and some trick or treating. Here are all the boys eating their dinner. They all look so big!

Poor Blake had a rough night. Do you see the tear running down his cheek? He had a lot of bad luck and fell down many times hitting his head most of those times. My sweet boy! I hope he doesn't have an aversion to Halloween like Cam on Modern Family now. :)

Once we got home Mason (Luke Skywalker) and Lauren (Tinkerbell) came over for a photo shoot. My boys were crazy! You would have thought they had eaten their entire bags of candy, when the actually hadn't had any. And, it was almost 8:30. An hour and a half past bed time. They were so hyper though, it was hysterical.

Time to wash the night off.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. We sure did!!

Fun with Daddy!

We have had a great few days around here! The boys are finally feeling better and Garrett took last Friday and Monday off. We got to spend four days as a family and we had a ball!!

The boys just adore their daddy and we all love to have him around!

Last Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch at our church. This was the beginning of the boy's sickness so they weren't feeling so great but had a great time none the less.

Apparently 16 month olds don't focus long enough to have their picture taken. :)

On Friday all my boys decided to swing on the front porch. Jack looks so pathetic because he was so congested. Blake, on the other hand, is looking at an airplane.

The boys love to play in the pillows on our bed. They REALLY love it when Garrett throws them into the pillows. Here is Jack about to take off.

My sweet husband lets me sleep in on Saturday mornings and he takes care of the kiddos. This past Saturday I awoke to lots of crying. I decided I should get up and help Garrett out. When I walked out of the bedroom, this is what I saw.

Both boys had gotten into trouble and were in timeout. Isn't that the cutest and saddest thing you have ever seen?

On Monday morning we got up and headed to Bouncin' Bears. It is a huge play area full of inflatables. We love it because it has lots of inflatables that are for 3 and under only. The boys had a blast running around and jumping...we did too! Here is Jack with his favorite guy.

We had a great weekend with Garrett home. I only wish we could have four day weekends like that more often. It is so nice to have nothing on the agenda except for fun ,family time!

First 'official' haircuts

This morning my little guys got their first haircuts. Garrett took today and Monday off so he was able to go with us and be our photographer.

We went to see the sweetest lady named Miss Gogi. You see, Miss Gogi gave me my first haircut and was the only one to cut my hair until I was about 13. So, it was a no-brainer for Miss Gogi to give my sweet guys their first haircuts as well.

My two little ragamuffins were in desperate need of a trim but now they look like little boys. :( They did do such a great job while Miss Gogi was cutting their hair, no fussing or squirming. This was one proud Mama!
