8 weeks!

My sweet boys are now 8 weeks old! They are changing every day. As I am typing this, I am looking at them sleep in their bouncy seats, and they don't even look like the children that we brought home from the hospital.

Unfortunately, they had to experience one of life's most painful times...shots. They each got three shots in their thighs on Thursday. We had two nurses who gave them their shots at the same time. I was a nervous wreck. Their little faces were as red as tomatoes during the shots, but as soon as they were over the boys were fine. Such troopers!
Here are their 2 month stats:
Blake:
9 pounds 7 ounces (18%)
21 inches (20%)

Jack:
9 pounds 10.5 ounces (38%)
21.5 inches long (22%)

It is amazing how just a few ounces puts them in to such different percentiles.
They gained 3 pounds in one month. I think those pounds went to their double chins, chubby thighs and a bigger tummies! As soon as our newborn diapers are all gone, they will be in size ones. And, they are beginning to out grow some of their newborn clothes. I haven't made the move to take them out of their closet yet, because it will make me too sad.
The boys are eating 6 ounces every 3 1/2 hours now. They have also eliminated the middle of the night feeding. We feed them at 9:30 (6 ounces mixed with a tablespoon of rice cereal) and they are making it until 7:30 in the morning. Now, they are waking up around 5am and I have to put pacifiers in their mouths a few times, but I'll take it over a middle of the night feed.
Here is Blake after his bath, ready for his final meal of the night. Check out his blonde hair!

Blake is my serious boy. I am feeding him and he started smiling after I burped him. He doesn't smile often, and this is the best shot we got of it. You can see one of his dimples in his left cheek.
Here is Jack after his bath also waiting for his final bottle of the night.

Jack is our smiley one. Here he is in his swing. Excuse all of his baby acne on his cheeks.

Hangin' Tough

Now, for the second time in my life, I have attended a New Kids on the Block concert! The first one was probably around 1990, the second one was on Saturday.

There was a large group of us girls who decided many months ago that this was a concert that we wouldn't be able to miss. After many discussions on what to wear (Coca-Cola swimsuits, wind/plastic shorts, crimped hair, spandex, 2 pair of different colored socks, etc.) we made our way to the pavilion in the Woodlands.
We had so much fun! Most of us had never really heard NKOTB's new songs, but we were all VERY familiar with their old hits. You would have thought that we were all 8 years old again as we sang and danced along. My ears have never rung so badly in my life, it was incredible. The women at this concert could really scream.
We had a blast and I would go back if they come back to Houston again!
Here are Georgia and I about to head up to the hill.
Here is our crew hangin' tough in the humid heat.

Really...already?!

Every time I want to sit down and write a new post, someone starts crying. Everyone is asleep now, so here we go.

Monday morning, after the boys ate and played, I put them down to take a nap. I have discovered that they love laying on their tummies. I know, I know you aren't suppose to do that, but I watch them carefully. So, they were on the floor sleeping and I was in the kitchen making 12 bottles (like I do every morning). Blake started fussing and I walked into the living room to see what was going on. Blake was laying on his side. Holy cow!! I grabbed the camera and took a picture. When I turned around to put the camera away, he rolled to his back! WHAT??!!! He is less than 6 weeks old and he rolled from his tummy to his back.

Now I know you are thinking that I have a genius child, as am I, but I'm afraid this was probably just a fluke. He hasn't done it again since. But I will continue to think he is a genius. :)

Another mind blowing tid bit. Yesterday I decided to see how much the boys weigh because they are getting SO big. I first got on the scale with Blake, then put him down and got on without him. The difference was 8 1/2 pounds! I did the same with Jack and the result was the same. I just don't know if I completely believe this because just 12 days prior they were 6 lbs. 10.5 oz and 6 lbs 11oz. Can they really grow this quickly? If so, we are going to have some chunky monkeys on our hands. But, I wouldn't have it any other way!
Below are pictures of the big roll over and just some random ones to see how they've grown and how handsome they are!
