Busy week

I feel like we have had a crazy week. Summer is over and we are getting back into a routine. I love Mondays because we are always home so I can clean house and do laundry. The boys usually stay in their jammies all day and we just play and have fun.

Tuesdays we have started back with playgroup. We went to a place called Bouncin' Bears. It is like Pump It Up but for smaller kiddos. The boys loved it, but for a very short time. You see, playgroup meets at 10am which is right smack dab in the middle of nap time. So I was chasing around a couple of grumps. When they were happy, they loved Bouncin' Bears. We will for sure be going back.

Wednesday mornings the boys and I head up to church for Bible study. They love being in the nursery and playing with all the new toys. They are now in the same nursery room since Blake is a walker. (Yea!!!!) And, this past week was the first time in a long time that Blake had a smile on his face and ready to go into the nursery, instead of crying. That made for a happy Mama.

On Thursday we went to the Children's Museum in the Woodlands. We meet some friends, again at 10 so you can imagine how things went. They did love the museum and we will for sure be going back there as well. I will just need to take someone with me. It is so hard to keep up with both boys as they head in opposite directions.

I saw this face a lot as Blake is reaching for me to pick him up. I posted this picture multiple times but it keeps posting sideways. Oh well.

Friday we stayed home so I could get some things done and get us packed for our weekend at the lake. My brother and his girlfriend came into town so we all headed to Conroe. The boys had a blast swimming and playing with their Uncle Brian. They would just watch his every move and loved him so much. Brian and Jessica are both so good with the boys. I of course didn't get any pictures from the weekend. I know, I know, I'm a terrible Mom.

Now here we are, Sunday night, time to start all over again. As exhausted as I am I wouldn't trade any of it for anything!

Praying for the Cure

This afternoon my church had a luncheon called Praying for the Cure. When I heard about it I knew that I wanted to attend. I immediately emailed Mrs. Foley, Harn and Bullard to ask them to attend with me (these were my mom's 3 best friends). Mrs. Harn was out of town but Mrs. Foley and Bullard were able to come.

It was just a time for us to eat lunch, visit and hear how God is the only one that can cure all of us of this horrible disease. He has full control and we need to surrender to Him. The main speaker was a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer about a week after finding out she was pregnant. That was 9 years ago and both she and her son are perfect!

I am so glad I went and that both Mrs. Foley and Mrs. Bullard went with me. It was an inspirational day and reminded me how many lives are touched by such a terrible disease.

Two weeks in pictures

I haven't posted in over two weeks and now you are getting two in a row...aren't you lucky! :)

The last couple of weeks have been rather uneventful which has been nice. We have stayed home a lot and just played. The boys are growing like crazy and really enjoying having the other around. They have started doing things for each other, handing things to each other and making each other laugh. They even feed each other. They kiss each other goodnight before going to bed, I mean can it get any sweeter than that??!! I know they will kill me for saying that later in life, but for now it is adorable.

Garrett and I get a kick out of these two little guys all day. They are full of personality and do new things constantly which they are very proud of. Jack is walking all over the place and Blake still isn't too interested. At their 15 month appointment last week the doctor could see that he could walk (as he was going from chair to chair) but he just wasn't interested in doing it all the time. She wasn't worried about him at all which took away my worry.

I do have to say how well behaved my two munchkins are. Of course they test boundaries but for the most part they follow directions. Last Thursday I needed to go to HEB for a rather large shopping trip. I hadn't been to the store in quite some time since Garrett had been traveling so much, so this was going to be an expensive one. I was going to go while the boys were napping (and Garrett was working at home) but I decided to take them with me because they were getting cabin fever as was I. I told Garrett that this would be a very short trip or quite a long one. HEB has the double width carts like Sam's so it is easy to take both boys with me. They had their snack cups and water with them and they were perfect angels. I got stopped multiple times by fellow shoppers commenting on how well behaved the boys were. Our trip lasted an hour or so and we had no meltdowns. I was so proud!!

The other day the boys were playing in our bathroom and I got out Garrett's hair gel and played around with the boys hair. Here are the results:

Wednesday evening Jake came over to play, eat dinner, bathe and go to bed while Seth was at school and Mary was teaching school. The boys had a blast together.

The other day I was in the closet in the playroom and saw the boys' play mat. I got it out to see what they would do with it. As you can see it was as if they were 3 months old again.

Labor Day weekend

We had a great three day weekend! We headed up to Lake Conroe to spend the days outside around the pool. The weather could not have been any better. It seems as though it is always about 10 degrees cooler at the lake than at home and this weekend didn't disappoint. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! There were blue skies and a light breeze the entire weekend.

The boys are getting more and more comfortable in the water and had a blast!!! We had a hard time keeping them out of the water.

It was a great weekend and we can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks when my brother comes into town.
