Blake & Jack turned 3!!!

Well somehow the time has passed and in the blink of an eye my baby boys have turned 3.  I still haven't figured out where that time has gone but I have loved every minute of it.  We had a crazy Memorial Day weekend filled with lots of fun!

On Sunday afternoon we had the boys' Batman/Superman birthday party.  My dad recently moved to a great new house with a beautiful pool and huge cabana in his backyard.  So, all of the boys' friends came over and we had a great time.

Here is Blake, all ready for his party.
Jack is ready to go too!
Sweet brothers!  My dad always says, "When they were born I couldn't tell them apart, and now I can't tell they are brothers."  So true!!
Kate had to get in on the superhero theme, so she wore her Wonder Woman shirt.  How cute are my kiddos??!!
Here are the Superman cupcakes complete with capes.
Batman got his own cupcakes too.
I made each of the boys' friends a superhero cape complete with their initial on the back.
I also made these banners that hung on the mantle in the cabana.
Since the party was at 3:30, we just had some snacks to munch on.  And yes, the cake batter dip was left at home by accident. :(
Last year, Blake and Jack both were scared to death of the 'open' water.  Now only Jack has that fear.  Blake was a little fish and loved every minute of it.
Quick potty break.  A major perk of boys, they can just go in the grass.  Don't judge!
Garrett had so much fun swimming with Blakers.
 Our wonderful group of friends.
Every year, we sing Happy Birthday separately to each boy.  They are their own person, and deserve their own song.  It was so cute because Jack sang to Blake and Blake sang to Jack.  It was precious.

I think they liked their cupcakes.
I LOVE this picture of Jack.  What a handsome little guy!
Blake loved jumping off the side of the pool.  And I didn't even have to catch him, he just went under the water and popped right back up. We were so proud of him!!
I think Jack spent less than 5 minutes in the water aside from the beach entry.  As you can tell, he isn't too happy about it.
Enjoying a Tootise Roll Pop from the cupcake toppers.
By the time we got home on Sunday evening, the boys were so wiped out that we saved presents until Monday, which was their real birthday anyway.
 A sweet birthday hug.
Garrett and I got the boys a Power Wheels police car complete with lights and sirens.  It is so cute and the boys LOVED it!!!
I love this shot of Blake hopping in the car and Jack running around to the driver's seat.
 Off they go.
I will not like this shot when it happens again in 13 years.  Time better really start to slow down.

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate our sweet boys' birthday.  They are just the sweetest little guys I know and I have adored being their Mommy.  I couldn't have asked for better kiddos.  They love each other so much and the joy I get watching them grow together and have conversations together is overwhelming.  We love you so much Blake and Jack!!!

5 months

So I am about 11 days late on this post, but I have been very busy getting ready for two of my favorite (almost) 3 year olds' birthday party.

Kate,
You are just the light of my life.  I am so in love with you and you have added so much joy to our family.  I can't imagine our little family without you.  Your brothers adore you and you them.  You are always looking for them and giving them huge smiles when you spot them.

I think you are well over 16 pounds now and are wearing 9 month jammies.  You are in some 6-9 month clothes as well.  You are still (barely) wearing size 2 diapers during the day and 3s at night.  I am going to have to switch you to 4s very soon though.  You are trying so hard to roll from your back to your tummy and you have done it a few times but not consistently yet.  I walked away from you the other day and came back to find you in a totally different spot.  I placed your jammies in the spot where I left you.

We started feeding you rice cereal about 2 weeks ago when you started grabbing for my food.  You are doing really well but still struggling to figure out what to do with your tongue.

You are such a happy baby and very go with the flow.  I think you got your Mimi's personality in many ways.  God is so good!!!!

Mother's Day

What a wonderful day I had with my wonderful family!  We weren't able to go to church because Kate is sick and couldn't go to the nursery.  So, my wonderful hubby let me sleep in and he went to get donuts for all of us.  The boys brought me each a flower and my present which was tickets to the Jason Mraz concert in August.  I love him!!

Once we were all ready for the day, we hopped in the car to run some errands.  Little did I know that we were going to the Verizon store to get me a brand new Iphone 4S.  I have hated my non-Iphone phone for a long time now but knew that my rather frugal husband wouldn't pay the cancellation fee with T-Mobile.  I was so excited for my present.  I'm still figuring it all out and getting used to something different, but I love it!

After naps, we headed to Mercer Arboretum and let the boys run around and see all the flowers.  We also saw tons of butterflies, a few turtles and lizards and even a snake.  We had a great time wondering around in this gorgeous weather.

Here I am with my oh so handsome boys who are getting way too big!!!
Blake (who won't smile, AHHH) and his proud Mommy.
 Jack and his proud Mommy.
My sweet Kate and her proud Mommy.
I wanted a picture with all three kids, which is quite a difficult task.  When going through all of them I saw this one and had to post it.  I love the way Jack is looking at me.  When he is driving me nuts I need to come back to this picture and take a few deep breaths.
Here is the best we could get.  Kate had no interest in looking but I will take it.

I had such a great day and I am so thankful that God put me here on Earth to be the Mommy to these three terrific kids!!!

Touch a Truck

On Saturday morning we headed out to the Woodlands for a wonderful event called Touch a Truck.  This was supposed to take place earlier this year, but to the absolute devastation of my boys, it was rained out.  Then of course rain was in the forecast for Saturday too, but luckily it held off.

Simply imagine a truck and it was at this event.  From monster trucks, to garbage trucks, to fire trucks, to police cars, to army trucks, to school buses, to cranes and tractors...well you get the idea.  It was pure heaven for two almost three year old little boys.

I am already ready for the Woodlands Township to post when next year's Touch a Truck will be so I can put it on our calendar.

Here is Jack sitting on the tire of a huge monster truck.
Is it a police car or is it a taxi cab?  It is both.  It said the "DWI Taxi".  Tricky tricky police officer!
 Blake sitting on a tractor.
Blake sitting in an army truck.  This is now what Blake does when you tell him to smile.  Lovely, I know.
Jack sitting in a garbage truck.  Let's not make this his day job.
Final shot in front of the fire truck that we went and visited probably 5 times.
This was such a wonderful event, I can't say enough great things about it!!

First food

After Kate was eyeing my lunch yesterday and kept trying to grab it, I decided that maybe it was time to start feeding her 'real' food.  Garrett didn't get home from work until 9 last night, so I waited until tonight so he could be here for her milestone.

Kate did such a better job with her first meal than her brothers did.  She actually ate it, not a lot of it, but she did consume it.  The fact that she is a finger/hand sucker helped her eat because she would take a bite and then stick her hand in her mouth which just shoved the food on down.

Here is her first bite, it was quite hard keeping her hand out of her mouth.

Does this mean she liked it?  This picture makes me laugh every time I see it.

"Mom what are you doing to me?"

When Garrett tried feeding her, she kept grabbing the spoon from him. I guess she really did like it.

"Yum yum!"

I love this shot of her roly-poly arm, bright blue eyes and chubby cheeks.

All done!  She is a full, happy girl!

And the thumb is back in the mouth.
