2 months

Baby girl,
You are now two months old!! At times we feel like you are older than this because it feels like you have been a part of this family forever; but, then I really think about it and I can't believe how quickly these two months have flown by.

You are such a GOOD baby. I thought the boys were good, but you are even better. You have been sleeping through the night for two weeks now. You have also been sick with a cold for the past five weeks. So, sleeping through the night means that you aren't eating but some nights you still wake up due to all the congestion. You sound like you are going to cough up a lung. It makes us so sad. Finally, at your doctor's appointment yesterday, we were able to get you on an antibiotic. Let's pray that it works.

When you were born I referred to you as 'Little Bit' since you were so tiny. Well, baby girl, I can't call you that anymore. At your appointment yesterday you weighed 11 pounds 10.5 ounces. This is in the 72nd percentile. You are also very tall. At birth you were 19 inches, now you are 23 3/4 inches. This is in the 92nd percentile. Your brothers never came close to these percentiles, except for maybe Blake's head. :) I am so happy that you are growing because I was afraid you wouldn't be able to wear all your clothes since you started off so little. However, now I'm afraid you won't be able to wear your summer clothes because they will be too small. You are eating 5 ounces six times a day. You're first bottle is at 7:30am and your last it at 10:30pm, but we are about to start working that last bottle earlier and earlier.

Your brothers still absolute adore you. You are really starting to smile at them now and they are lovin' it, as are we. I feel like you are right on the verge of laughing. I am on pins and needles waiting to hear your sweet giggle.

We love you so much and can't imagine our family without you!

Kids say the darndest things

This post is more for me than for anyone else. The boys are talking away now and some of the things that come out of their mouths cracks us up. I didn't want to forget about any of it so I'm writing it here.

The other day Jack kept telling me he wanted to wear his Stupidman shirt. I had no idea what he was talking about. We don't use the word 'stupid', so I don't know where he got this. I finally made Jack go into his closet to show me the Stupidman shirt. Turns out this is how he says Superman. Now we make him say it all the time because we think it is hilarious. We even made him say 'super-duper' the other day and it came out 'stupid-duper'.

Blake refers to a toot as a toop. He also calls his lovie a lobie.

Whenever we go to someone else's house Jack knocks on the door and says, "knock, knock we're here!"

Ok, I guess I have forgotten some stuff. I will have to add to the list as things come to me.

2 months x 3

I get asked all the time if Kate favors one boy over the other or if she is a good mixture of the two. Some people think she is a good mixture but most people take one look at her and think she is Blake dressed up like a girl.

I do have to say that I think she is a happier baby than the boys were. The boys were always good and didn't cry too much, but I don't remember them smiling as much as Kate does. She always has a smile on her face. I love it so much!!

Ok, here is Kate at 2 months.

Here she is closer up and not smiling, more like the picture of Blake below. I think she got Blake's looks and Jack's sensitive skin.

Jack at 2 months. Now that I think about it, Jack was a smiley baby too. Still not quite as much as Kate though.


As I was searching through the boys pictures I came across this one and had to include it because it made me laugh. It looks like Jack just punched Blake right in the face. It also looks like he is about to fly away like Superman. I guess his obsession with super heroes started sooner than I had realized. :)

So, who do you think Kate favors?

Around here...

...we have all been sick. Just colds, but still we have all taken a turn at being miserable. All FIVE of us, yes even Kate. She has had horrible congestion for 5 weeks now and she is only 9 weeks old. That means she has been sick the majority of her life. Sweet baby girl, I just hate it for her.

The boys both had to get breathing treatments for a few days due to wheezing. Luckily they were troopers and had no problem sitting still for 10 minutes to take their medicine. They just did a good job of looking super pathetic and making their Mommy sad.



Here are my 3 angels sitting and watching Praise Baby. It is for Kate, but the boys love it too. They wanted to sit on the floor next to their sister and bounce her. I love how much they love her.


Even being sick, this sweet girl is so happy all the time. God truly has blessed me with easy babies. I hope I didn't just jinx myself.


The boys love to help us cook. Here they are helping Garrett make eggs one Saturday morning. We are constantly reminding them that the cook top is hot and they have done a good job listening, until last week. They were helping me make breakfast for dinner and I turned my back for 2 seconds and both of them touched the cook top after I just turned it off. It was scary-silent, and then screaming. I had the moment of panic and didn't know what to do. Then I took a deep breath and we got it all under control. Jack's hand was on the cook top the longest, apparently, because his hand had about 5 blisters on it. Blake's was just really red. Sometimes this mom job really stinks when you have to see your kids in pain.


Jack has really gotten into playing dress up lately. He runs around with his capes on and thinks he is flying. It is really cute. Blake still just loves to push cars. :)

Time is flying by so quickly these days. Baby girl is 2 months old today!! How is it possible? I take her on Tuesday for her check-up, so I will post on all her stats after that. I just pray that our family stays healthy through the remainder of this cold season.
