Easter...a week late

Since all three kids were sick over Easter, our holiday has stretched over a very long period of time. It is finally over and we are now moving on.
The Sunday before Easter our Sunday School class had a family egg hunt at a really great park. The kids had so much fun playing with all of their friends. I just don't know if I will get the courage to go back to this park any time soon since it was the evening following this hunt that the sickness invaded our home.
I am so in love with this picture of Jack (thank you Doylina)! The pure joy on his face when all the kids were told to go and find the hidden eggs. It doesn't get any better than this.
It took Blake a little longer to get warmed up, but he caught up in no time.

My handsome boys and all of their eggs.

Kate had a great time hanging out with Tami.

On a side note, look who loves her exersaucer!

The Easter bunny was so nice to come the morning after we spent some time in the ER with Jack. I think the bunny was quite tired, but he came through.

"Did the bunny hide eggs?" Why yes he did!

Jack didn't have much energy but he managed to find some eggs. He gave up rather quickly though which just broke my heart.

Blake was all well and full steam ahead!
We spent the rest of the day lounging around the house praying for everyone to get well. We did manage to get outside a few times throughout the day and enjoy the beautiful weather.

This past Saturday we went to my dad's house so the boys could see what the Easter bunny had brought to their house. We had yet another egg hunt. This one was so much fun though because everyone felt well and enjoyed themselves.
Blake decided that his basket was weighing him down, so he just ran and gathered as many eggs as he could.

Still hunting alongside Golfpa.

We then went inside and the boys went through all the loot they got. I love this picture of Blake. He was laughing at the little chicken that hopped along the table. It was the cutest thing!

We all went outside afterwards and enjoyed the overcast day. My dad's pool has a beach entrance that the boys started splashing around in and got soaked. So we stripped them down to their undies and let them play. I, of course, didn't take a suit because I thought the water would be way too cold to play in. I guess I was wrong. After a long time, Jack decided he was cold and wanted to go in. So I took off his undies and dried him off. He promptly said that he wanted to go back into the pool. Well if Jack was going to play naked so was Blake, so he very quickly stripped down.
They are going to kill me for posting these but I thought they were so cute! They loved playing with their new cars in the water.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

4 months old

Time just will not slow down. I can't believe my girl is already getting so big. I am so looking forward to these next few months, they are my favorite! I love the age that Kate is entering and can't wait to see how she grows and changes.
Kate,
You are still the sweetest little girl and always happy as can be. You are still a great eater and sleeper, I just can't complain! You take two two-hour naps a day and then you sleep anywhere from 12-13 hours at night. When you wake up in the mornings you 'play' in your bed and then let out a little squeal to let me know you are ready for me. When I walk into your room, you just have the biggest grin on your face. Grandma was over yesterday morning and went upstairs with me to get you and she couldn't believe how happy you were even with a dirty diaper.
We went to the doctor this morning and you had to get your second round of shots. You cried for maybe 30 seconds and then were ready to move on to the next thing. You weigh 14 lbs. 1.5 oz (62%) and are 25.5 in. (91%). You are still wearing 3-6 month clothes but we may have to move up to 9 month jammies soon because you are so long.
You are eating between 5 1/2 and 6 ounces every 4 hours. We are putting rice cereal in each bottle to help with your spit up. I think we will have to increase your intake here pretty soon, since you are finishing every bottle, down to the last drop.
Kate, we all just love you so much and you are the best addition to our family. I get stopped while shopping all the time by strangers who can't get enough of you. You are just the most precious little girl! I am so grateful to God for allowing me to be your mommy!

The week from H-E-L-L

Last Sunday night, on April Fool's Day, around 11pm we heard crying coming from Blake's room. Garrett went upstairs and then hollered down to me to come and help him. Blake threw up all over himself and his bed. Garrett bathed Blakers and I changed his bed. Fifteen minutes later it happened again. So, I was up all night with him as he was vomiting every 20 minutes.

Monday afternoon I took him to the doctor, got him some Zofran and the throwing up stopped. Then the diarrhea kicked into full gear. Garrett made the comment Monday night that there was nothing worse than throw up. I called him Tuesday morning to inform him that he was wrong. There is something worse.

The doctor told me that this was not a 24 hour bug and it would last about 4 days. AND, just when you think he is all better, he will throw up again. Well, Dr. McKillip is our doctor for a reason, she was completely right! After Blake threw up on Thursday he was all better.

We thought we had dodged a bullet because as of Thursday no one else had gotten the bug. Bullet not dodged. Jack woke up around 8:15pm throwing up. We were, if nothing else, more prepared this time around. Sadly for Jack, he threw up for 43 hours straight. On Saturday night, the night before Easter, we ended up in the ER because we started to worry about dehydration. Once he got some Zofran he was better.

Here it is Tuesday, and he still has diarrhea and is very lethargic. He is taking two naps a day right now and still sleeping 12 hours at night. His poor little body is just so tired.

On Friday morning I went to get my sweet girl out of her crib and she was laying in throw up and had diarrhea that had exploded everywhere. My precious girl made no noises to indicate that she wasn't well. She has thrown up a couple of times and now has diarrhea too.

I am praying that all of this is over soon! We didn't get to properly celebrate Easter with our families. There were lots of birthday parties and Easter celebrations scheduled for this past weekend and we had to miss them all. I will say that my house is probably cleaner, in terms of germs, than it has ever been. I have Clorox wiped everything. Every toy, every door knob, everything that sits still. We need healthy kids pronto so we can get back to a normal life!!!

Look alikes?

Ok, so my friend Mary did this on her blog so I thought I would copy.

I always thought that Blake looked like Garrett. Then I found this old picture of me and boy was I wrong! Since Kate looks so much like Blake, it looks like I may end up with two look alikes.

Bluebonnets

Last week I took the kids to have their pictures taken in the bluebonnets. No, I didn't not take them, it is bad enough having to try to get them all to behave and smile so taking the pics myself is out of the question.

I wouldn't say that we got any spectacular pictures but I was very pleased with what we got.

It doesn't get any sweeter than this little girl.

Best one of all three of them.

Blake loves his baby sister so much!

Blake wasn't happy that Jack got to hold Kate.

Jack, too, loves his sister so much!

Jack decided to cooperate for these pictures. The bribe of ice cream and Chick-fil-a seemed to have worked.

Blake didn't want to smile because he knew I wanted him to smile. We got this really cute, really forced smile.

I LOVE this shot!

Hopefully next year we will have a little better luck, at least getting one of the three of them.
