26 weeks

Is this pregnancy flying by for anyone else or is just me? I can't believe that last Thursday I hit the 26 week mark, almost outta the 2nd trimester.

I'm still feeling great with the exception of the inability to breath. I'm having a hard time taking a deep breathe. On Friday I was feeling great so I was off to the mall, I got half way down Rayford and had to turn around because I knew I wouldn't be able to make it walking the mall. I came home, ate and rested and then gave it another shot a couple of hours later, and I was totally fine. Then on Saturday I was on my way to a wedding shower and again couldn't breathe. Only this time I guess I started to hyperventilate because I broke into a cold sweat and started seeing black spots. I pulled over the first chance I had and after about 5 minutes I was fine.

I spoke to the nurse this morning and she said the truth of the matter is that it is only going to get worse. Sitting up is the worst position, so I should stick to lying, reclining, or standing. I also have to start taking it much easier. I'm not too happy about this. I've still got lots to do to get ready for these little guys.

The boys are great though and moving around like crazy! I think Jack is doing the wave in my belly because you can see my belly go up and down from one side to the other. It is so weird! I go in on Thursday for my blood glucose test, RH negative shot, progesterone shot (which I will be starting to get weekly) and an ultrasound. It will be a busy morning but I can't wait to see their precious faces once again.

I think I've gotten bigger, what do you think?

Dog to ...???

Every year around this time Buster gets a haircut. We know that he is part lab but we aren't sure what else is in him. He has got the thickest coat and, especially around his neck, he has more loose skin than a 90 year old woman. So Garrett takes him out to the garage to get shaved. This helps me keep my sanity because it significantly reduces his shedding.
This process also helps us determine what else Buster is made of. I am determined that he has some reindeer in him. Once he is shaved he looks like a reindeer, minus the antlers of course. Take a look for yourself.

School Shower

Last Thursday my first grade team threw me a baby shower at school. It was so nice. Everyone was so generous and had such sweet words to say to the babies and I. It was a bit of a bittersweet moment because last Friday was my last day of school. I am now officially retired! Well I guess I'm still on spring break, but starting Monday I am officially retired.

The group of teachers that I have worked with over the last 3 years have been so supportive and become great friends of mine. Two and a half years ago, when I lost my mom, my first grade team and the rest of the school was such a great support to me and have continued that support during this journey of getting pregnant.

Thank you so much to my team for hosting this great shower for me and for all the wonderful board books. The other teams spoiled me with gift cards, cash, diapers, wipes and little jammies for the boys. Thank you everyone!!!

Here I am with my big 'ole belly and my precious cake.

Here is a close up of one of the babies on the cake. Precious!!

The Nursery!!

Garrett has finally finished painting the nursery and bathroom and they both look great! Last weekend he put together all the furniture and I got the bedding on also. I keep walking in there thinking that in a few short months 2 baby boys will be sleeping in those beds.

As you can see, much still needs to be done. I don't have any accessories or wall hangings yet, but those are yet to come. This next week is my last week of school, so my new job will be to finish the room.

I am so excited and can't wait to finish the room and bathroom! Now my other job is to organize their closet. Right now, everything that we have gotten has just been thrown in there, so it needs to be cleaned out and organized...my favorite thing to do!!

24 Weeks

I can't believe that I am now 24 weeks pregnant! How time flies! Garrett and I were talking yesterday how in 10 weeks the boys could be here and we could be parents. Hopefully that won't happen, they need to marinade longer than that, but the idea that in 10 short weeks we could be parents is crazy! I'm still feeling great but I'm getting tired very quickly and easily. A simple chore like vacuuming is now exhausting. Bending down is now becoming more of a challenge as well.

Here I am at 24 weeks. My belly is starting to look like a torpedo.
