Picture/Cuteness Overload

I have no excuse for not posting in the last couple of weeks except that I just don't know where the time has gone. It hit me a couple of days ago that in less than a week the boys will already be 8 months old! WHAT??!!

We have just been hanging around the house lately not doing a whole heck of a lot as you will see when the boys are in their jammies for most of the pictures. The boys, especially Jack, haven't been to thrilled with shopping in their infant carriers lately. I know it is time to let go of the 10 pound snap n' go stroller and move on to the 40 pound bus of a stroller but I just can't make myself do it. The boys are ready to be sitting up and looking at everything as we shop. I know this will make shopping enjoyable once again so we just need to bite the bullet. I'm thinking that if we change strollers we will go ahead and change car seats too. NOOOO!!! I'm not ready to see my babies in their toddler car seats. Be strong Mama!

This past weekend, Garrett and I ventured up to Texarkana for the wedding of some dear friends, Ross and Whitney. We were both in the wedding which meant boys couldn't go. They stayed with Garrett's folks, my dad was at the wedding, and did a great job. I also did a great job of leaving them for 3 days, I might add, and for the first time! We only got positive reports, so the boys get an A+ for their first nights away from home.

Over the weekend, Blake started clapping and pulling onto his knees getting ready to crawl. Why do these things happen while I'm not around? Jack is now crawling to explore not just to get somewhere and he is pulling up on everything. He can even stand for a few seconds all by himself.

I am so excited to see what the next few weeks and months brings us as the boys are changing daily. Life is so exciting right now and so much fun!

Jack loves crawling on/over his brother. Blake has learned to fight back by attempting to bite and spank Jack. We will have to work on our 'getting along' skills.

7 months and some milestones

Ok, I'm a little late (about a week) of telling you all about my wonderful 7 month old (tear shed) boys!! How is it possible that they are so old? They are closer to a year than a newborn. There is a picture in our bedroom of Garrett and I with the boys when they were only 8 days old. I look at that picture all the time and can't believe the difference in not only their size but their abilities. It truly is amazing that a little person can go from being able to doing practically nothing to being very 'busy' just 7 short months later.

It seems like the day they turned 7 months old things started to change. Last Monday Blake got his first tooth (another tear shed). It is so cute but it really means that he is growing up. Jack also started really crawling, like one leg one foot crawling. He hasn't figured out that he can do it for long periods of time though, which isn't a bad thing. Jack is also starting to pull himself up and trying to stand. He looks more like a tripod since he isn't quite getting his hiney underneath his torso. This means the crib is getting moved to it's lowest setting. Ugh.

Here are a few other little tidbits:
-both boys are wearing size 4 diapers. Blake is even leaking out of those at night.
-they LOVE Buster, they get a huge smile on their face when he comes around
-they love Puffs and are doing a better job of getting them in their mouths all by themselves
-they can sit up for very long periods of time
-they sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time a couple of weeks ago
-they LOVE each other. They play (Jack crawls on top of Blake) with each other, look at each other and laugh with each other. The cutest is when they are in their Jumperoos and they just look at each other, laugh and jump
-they are sleeping from 7pm until 8am. :)
-they are both holding their own bottles
-the spit up is improving dramatically but the drool is not
-two days before Christmas I had to take Blake to the doctor but we weighed both boys; Blake was 17 lbs. 15 oz. and Jack was 17lbs. 5oz.
-they are both starting to get a lot of hair; Blake is blond like his mama and Jack is brunette like his daddy
-both have found their voices and are talking all the time
-they are both happy babies, we can just look at them and smile and they will smile back; it warms my heart

We are just so blessed to have such healthy boys that are doing so well. Watching them grow every day is just amazing. It blows my mind how every day is different as they are learning so much! Here are a few pictures of their milestones and just them being cute.
