Go Texans!

The boys got all dressed in their Texans gear today for the big game against the Tennessee Titans. Since they looked so cute, we decided to have a little photo shoot.

Jack was running all over with the football.

Blake then took the ball and Jack's face says it all.

Touchdown!!

Blake is doing his victory dance.

Down, set...hut!!

SOOOOO cute!!

Blake's head is just a little big and his hat was quite snug. :)

Why do boys always get the best eyelashes?

A great Thanksgiving!

We have had a long few days but they have been great! We hosted Thanksgiving for our 6th time and everything was perfect. Garrett smoked another wonderful turkey. If you have never had a smoked turkey before you have got to try it. It is so juicy, unlike an oven roasted turkey.
Our morning started with the Macy's parade. Can you see who is on the screen?

Elmo!! The boys were like statues when the Sesame Street characters took their turn at singing and dancing. Jack did quite a bit of dancing himself.

I like to get all of my cooking done early so that I have a clean kitchen when all of my guests arrive (surprise, surprise). My extremely wonderful neighbor, Kedra, let me borrow her oven since they weren't going to be home. So I pre-made the mashed potatoes and stuffing, placed a damp towel across them and covered them with tin foil. FYI-the damp towel keeps the food from drying out. Then we headed next door and placed them on warm in her oven. This worked out so well because everything was very hot when we were ready to eat. I had the yams and mac and cheese in my oven so they were hot too. As our guests arrived with a dish, Garrett would run them over to Kedra's oven so they would stay warm. Can you tell having hot food is a big deal to our family? :)
At one point all the men were outside soaking in the aroma of the turkey in the smoker.

My little handsome devils wanted outside too.

Here our my Uncle Johnny and Aunt Frances, along with my dad. These are his aunt and uncle. They were like grandparents to my brother and I when we were growing up and I was thrilled that they came to our house this year.

Here is Uncle Johnny with my dad. Do you see the family resemblance? Do you also see where Jack gets his looks? :)

The turkey is now in the house and the fellas are checking it out.

Mrs. Bullard and my boys. Mrs. Bullard is like a mother to me. She and her hubby are from England so they always join us for Thanksgiving. It wouldn't be the same without them.

My brother and Jack. Go back and look at the picture of my dad and Uncle Johnny, then come back to this one. It is 4 generations of look-alikes. (Jack has a mouthful of food.)
Can you tell that we had the football game on?
Of course I forgot to take pictures during dinner but it was all so delicious.
Thursday night Garrett's grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin all drove in from Enid, OK. We got up and had Thanksgiving with them on Friday and Garrett's folks house. They hadn't seen the boys since they were about a month old and just got a kick out of them. Luckily the boys were on their best behavior. They would just walk up to Garrett's grandma and aunt, put their arms up, and love on those sweet ladies. I think it made their day. It sure made my day to see my little guys being so sweet. We spent the weekend catching up with family before they headed back home this morning. We took our camera but, once again, forgot to take any pictures. :(
All in all we had a great Thanksgiving weekend and are thankful for all of our wonderful family and friends!!

Hello?

Holy cow, three posts in one night...I'm on a roll!!

Over the last month or so our boys have been really obsessed with phones. Everything is a phone right now. It is cracking us up. Occasionally Jack will take a 'phone' and hold it between his head and shoulder and walk around. Clearly he sees me on the phone a little too much. They hold the 'phones' to their ears and say "hello". They also get really excited when the real phone rings and run towards it. I have been able to capture various items the boys use as phones...

remotes

a real phone

a horse

a caterpillar

a pretend phone (I love this one, he seems really engaged in his conversation)

Kendall Grace

Last Monday we welcomed our newest niece into the world, Kendall Grace Weddington. She is Garrett's sister's 4th kiddo. She was 7 lbs. 1 oz. and perfect.

Holly's labor was moving quite slowly on Monday so Garrett, the boys and I went up to visit around 5:45 that evening. We only stayed about 45 minutes since our boys kept running to the machines with the IV, lights and buttons and wanting to push them all. It was dinner time and it seemed as though Holly wouldn't be delivering any time soon so we took off. We stopped and ate dinner at Chick-fil-a and then headed home. On our way home we got a text from Garrett's brother saying that Kendall would be arriving at any minute. WHAT??!!! So, we got home, put the boys in their jammies and ran them next door to put them to bed at Kedra and Alan's. We ran and got flowers and balloons and off to the hospital we headed. We arrived post birth, but pre-visitors. So, perfect timing.

We were all so excited to meet Kendall and see that Holly was doing well. She is a cutie and has the chubbiest little cheeks, Kendall that is, not Holly. :)

Poor girl had so many flashes in her eyes from all the excited family members.

Here I am as the proud aunt. Please excuse my horrendous hair, it was Monday after all so I was cleaning house all day.

Uncle Garrett a.k.a. The Godfather

Garrett's folks were so excited to welcome their 8th grandchild and only the 3rd granddaughter.

3 generations of women!

The countdown to 30...

Let me start off by saying how incredibly behind I am in my blogging. It seems that now that the boys are down to one nap a day I am trying to get so much accomplished in a 3 hour window and blogging doesn't seem to be one of them. So, here is my attempt at beginning a recap of the last few weeks.

On November 11th (Veteran's Day) Garrett celebrated his 29th birthday. This was the 12th birthday for me to celebrate with him. Crazy!!!

Since it was a Thursday, he worked as usual and I headed down to the Nutcracker Market with 7 wonderful friends. We had a blast. For those who don't know what this market is, let me tell you it. is. Heaven!! It is held at the Reliant Center and it is aisle after aisle of booths filled with clothes, and home decor items for the most part. Aside from the enormous crowd we had a great time.

Ok, sorry, back to Garrett. We went to dinner that night with his folks and enjoyed time with family. When we got home we bathed the kids and then they helped him open his presents. At this point it was way past the kiddos' bed time so two little guys in our house were mighty cranky.

Here is our attempt at a picture of all 3 of my handsome guys. As you can tell it didn't go so well.

Jack loved helping open the gifts but after about 2 of them it was time for bed.

Friday night we went to the Anderle's house to celebrate G's birthday with them and the Samfords. We had a blast as always and dug into some rocky road ice cream cake make by yours truly.

Now turning 29 isn't all that exciting but just wait until next year when he turns the big 3-0 on, wait for it, 11/11/11!!! Yes, I have already looked it up on the calendar and it is on a Friday. All of our friends have already been warned not to schedule anything on that date due to a huge party at our house!!

Happy (belated) birthday to my wonderful husband whom I love so much!!!
